Since its announcement, Intel has offered 70 building sites in Europe alone. Locations include Ireland, Belgium, Poland and Italy. According to Intel Boss, most construction sites come from Germany. Good talks with the “federal government”

According to the company, criteria such as energy, water, soil and availability of trained personnel are important when deciding on a location. Intel also hopes to subsidize the construction of the chip factory. “We have received significant subsidies for our factories in Asia,” Gelsinger told Wirtshaftswatch. This is expected from European candidates, so Intel Factory will remain competitive. However, at the EU level, there have already been positive discussions with “the federal government and some German prime ministers,” Intel Bose said.

The Tesla factory in Gronehide will also play a role in selecting Germany as the location. Although there is no direct link here, German interlocutors may learn from discussions with Tesla how to attract global investors to Germany. However, for Gelsinger, another factor plays an important role, namely the liking of his customers: “Many of our major customers in Europe – Bosch or BMW, Daimler or Volkswagen – have explicitly supported the German location proposals.”
