A medical team from Fort-de-France University Hospital broke the news to the father who came to his daughter’s bedside on the evening of Wednesday, November 23, 2022, every day since his daughter was admitted to the hospital. A 17-year-old high school student at Dumas Jean-Joseph High School in Pointe des Negres has been in a coma since last Monday (November 21, 2022) following a fight with one of her classmates.

A tearful father confirmed to us on Thursday 24th November 2022 that his daughter Taina was brain dead.

The high school student has been in a coma since being rushed to the emergency hospital last Monday (November 21, 2022) at Dumas Jean-Joseph High School in Pointe des Negres after a fight with one of her classmates.

Her brain is beyond repair…they can’t revive her. There are other tests to be done. I saw 3 doctors and a psychologist who changed me to explain myself. But I want to understand what happened (…). Taina’s family and friends are devastated (…)
