“Sherlock” star Benedict Cumberbatch will appear in the Netflix thriller series. “39 Steps” is based on a classic novel.
Netflix, the streaming service, secured the “39 steps” miniseries. “Doctor Weird” and “Sherlock” star Benedict Cumberbatch (44) will play the lead roles. As reported by “The Hollywood Reporter”.
The thriller series is based on the spy novel “The Thirty-Nine Phases” by John Buchan (1875-1940), a Scottish writer from 1915. Alfred Hitchcock (1899-1980) wrote “The 39 Stages” (1935). . The novel brings the modern era in the Netflix series. Cumberbatch plays Richard Hahne, an ordinary man who is involved in a great conspiracy to bring about a new world order. The executive producer team will also have a star. Directed by Edward Berger (51, “Patrick Melrose”), Mark L. Smith (“The Revenant”) became a writer.
