For 30 days, more than 3000 athletes collected kilometers under the slogan #Betadate – based on the date of the event that was originally planned. Each for himself, gathered the distance.

It should be 180,421 km – this has become 247,141.6. “It makes us really proud and happy,” said Stephanie Eichel, head of the organization. “This encouragement strengthens us and gives us a lot of strength and courage to endure.”
So the connection to the marathon is not affected. Instead, the family seems to have grown up with the #Statthom campaign last year, now #beatDate. Especially since it has been collected and stored not only in Hanover and Germany, but also in Austria, the Netherlands, Denmark, France, Ireland, Canada and Kenya. In four proverbial days, they disguised themselves and moved on, with Timo hooking when Almo shot the bird.
What is left is hope for the coming year. Because the 30th edition of the HAJ Hanover Marathon should finally take place on April 3, 2022. And together.
