Amazon workers in Germany will strike around COVID-19 infections

FRANKFURT – Workers at 6 Amazon web pages in Germany will go on strike on Monday in protest around protection immediately after some workers at logistics centers tested positive for coronavirus, labour union Verdi mentioned.

Verdi stated on Sunday that the strike would last at least 48 several hours, below the motto ‘Good and healthful work’, to denounce what it termed a deficiency of transparency by the US retail huge just after personnel examined optimistic for COVID-19.

“We have facts that at minimum 30 to 40 colleagues had been infected,” explained Verdi consultant Orhan Akman.

Amazon has faced a lengthy-running battle with unions in Germany more than far better pay back and situations for logistics workers, who have staged frequent strikes since 2013.
