Digitization target of one crore small shops

Hyderabad (Andhra Jyoti Business): Amazon has decided to turn local stores into digital stores. The program is called ‘Smart Commerce’. The decision was made at Amazon’s ‘event’ annual conference. Amit Agarwal, senior vice president (India, Emerging Markets), Amazon, said the company aims to convert one million local stores to digital stores by 2025. He said 1.5 lakh local stores are already selling online using Amazon.in. Agarwal said more and more stores will be able to offer their regular sales online through smart e-commerce. In the coming weeks, Amazon will release new solutions for digitization, billing, and inventory management.

Amazon has decided to digitize one million MSMEs at the 2020 Amazon event. India aims to export $ 1000 billion and create 20 lakh jobs by 2025. He said steps in this direction were progressing. Manish Tiwari, Country Manager, Amazon India, said that 40 lakh MSMEs have already been digitized.
