Herve Renard's Blues suffered a heavy 3-1 defeat against Ireland in their final qualifier for Euro 2025. The French coach made eleven changes to the first team after the win against Sweden. A turnover linked to a lack of challenge at kick-off, while France were assured of qualification for Euro 2025 and Ireland were condemned to last place in the group. So the Blues' only goal was to prepare for the Olympics, which began in a few days.

So it was with this idea in mind that the French started the first half in Cork. In a half-empty stadium, Amandine Henry's teammates took some time to get into their game. The entries of Cascarino, Diani or Catotto will make no difference to this match, with the French bowing out strongly and promising Ireland a proud victory. Not the best preparation for Hervé Renard's group before the start of the Olympic Games.
