CNN reports that Trump will nominate Amy Connie Barrett to the Supreme Court

Published on

CNN reports, citing Republican sources, that President Donald Trump intends to nominate Conservative Federal Court of Appeals Judge Amy Connie Barrett to fill the vacancy in the U.S. Supreme Court following the death of Justice Ruth Bader Jeansberg.

Trump announced on Saturday that he would choose a replacement for Jean-Zuberg, a Liberal judge who died last week.

In 2017, Trump appointed Mr. MS Barrett, 48, to the Seventh U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, based in Chicago, and is known for his conservative religious views.

If confirmed, Trump’s nominee would give the Conservatives a 6-3 majority in court while severe political divisions persist in the United States.
