Hines has obtained planning approval for 416 new homes on the former Bailey Gibson site in Dublin 8.

Development compromises for 404 new apartments, two duplexes, six triplex apartments and four houses.

The planning permission granted through the strategic housing development process, paving the way for the first phase of the redevelopment of the former player Wills, Bailey Gibson site, was acquired in December 2018 by Hines and its partner APG & Partner.

Gary Corrigan, Managing Director, Hines Ireland, said: “We are delighted with this decision and it marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Bailey Gibson site and Dublin 8.

Over the next few months we interacted extensively with Dublin City Council, community leaders, and local neighbors to come up with a design that fully respects the local landscape and heritage of this historic area of the city and can deliver the new homes and facilities needed for the area. ”

Hines plans to submit the next application next week for the redevelopment of the Player Wills phase. This will include restoring the historic industrial area as part of the new development.

Hines hopes to begin construction on the Bailey Gibson site early next year.
