The right-aid worker was fired after asking the customer to wear or leave the mask on

A Pennsylvania right-aid worker said an angry customer fired her after she destroyed the store because she was asked to leave because she was not wearing a mask.

Shift Manager Elena Santiago (40) Told the York Daily Record On Thursday afternoon, September 3, a young man with a skateboard arrived in York, Pa.

The man ignored her first two requests to cover her face as required by state law.

She tried to give him one of the masks the store keeps for customers, but the man turned down her offer, they said.

“If you are going to show me disrespect, I will ask you to leave the store,” she told the customer, warning that she would call the police otherwise.

When the man threatened to attack her if she dialed 911, she asked the cashier to call other staff to help with the situation.

He reacted violently by shifting the cashier to a magazine rack.

Security footage of Man Throw store displays being knocked to the ground and tapped into the cash register.

He sees himself leaving the store and smashes a front window with the board.

Days later, Santiago said he was fired from work next Tuesday and was worried he would not get a new job during the corona virus pandemic.

“I don’t really understand that,” she said.

“I was fired for defending myself. They punish me for defending myself. I think it’s unfair how they handled this. ”

Right Aid did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Company spokesman Chris Savaris declined to comment on the Daily Record.
