There were no deaths or 196 new cases, of which 107 were in Dublin

Covid-19’s 196 confirmed cases have been reported to the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPET), of which 107 cases have been reported in Dublin. This brings the total number of patients in the Republic to 30,360.

The total number of deaths from the virus remains at 1,781.

Of the 107 in Dublin, 12 are in Waterford, 11 in Limerick, eight in Wicklow, seven in Meath, seven in Kildare, six in Laois, six in Westmeath, and the remaining 32 cases are in Cavan, Clare, Donegal, Galway, Kilkenny, Lightrim, Offford, Longford, , Roscommon, Tipperary, Wexford.

The Acting Chief Medical Officer said there was concern over the increase in community transmission with 37 cases. Ronan Glynn said. Of today’s cases, 27 are over 65 years of age.

“By limiting our contacts, we limit the chances of spreading through the Kovid-19 community, ultimately protecting our families, our communities and those most vulnerable to the worst effects of the disease,” he said.

Taozeechi’s appeal

At the same time, Taoist Michael Martin urged adults to limit social contact to ensure that schools remain open and that people continue to work.

He said the new long-term plan to stay with Kovid-19 – which will be launched on Monday – would clarify at what point local regulations would start if necessary.

“I urge people to limit their social interactions, especially with adults. We want schools to stay open and we want people to keep working, ”he said.
