A delivery cyclist (28) died at the hospital after sustaining a head injury

A 28-year-old delivery cyclist has died in hospital after being seriously injured in a head-on collision in Dublin City Center.

The life support machine that keeps Brazilian national star Thiago Osorio Cortes alive was switched off at the maternity hospital at 9am.

An extensive investigation into his death is continuing as the Store Street Guard.

The shocking incident took place in North Wall Quay around 10.30pm on Monday.

Garda on Store Street said the cyclist was hit by a car and the young woman who ran away was seriously injured.

A car believed to have been involved in the crash was found parked in Castleforbes Square some time later.

Up to four people are known to have fled the vehicle.

The light-colored Ford Focus 05 registration hatchback was clearly damaged, the roof hooked up, and the windscreen pushed inward from the force of the impact.

The bicycle was twisted and twisted with one of the cyclist’s shoes.

Garda forensic collision investigators inspected the scene and the road was closed for hours.

Those with dash-cam footage requested Garda Witnesses and drivers on Store Street to come forward.

They make a special request to anyone who contacts North Wall Quay, North Wall Avenue, East Wall Road, Sheriff Street Upper, Castle Forbes Road or Castle Forbes Square between 10.15pm and 10.30pm on Monday.

Garda found a car in Castleforbes Square shortly after he was found to be involved in the incident.

“No arrests have been made so far,” a spokesman said.
