2024 UK and Ireland tour to celebrate 50th anniversary canceled

Their 50th anniversary arena tour of the UK and Ireland has been canceled – full details below.

The “Don't Stop Believin'” band was scheduled to kick off their “Freedom Tour” this fall with special guests Cheap Trick.

Tickets for the concert series, including a visit to London's O2, went on sale last March. A brief statement has now confirmed the cancellation of the 11th-date tour.

“Due to circumstances beyond the band's control, Journey's UK & Ireland tour has unfortunately been cancelled,” the post read (via Radio). “Refunds will be issued from your point of purchase. »

The news is yet to be announced on Journey's official social media accounts. However, the concerts were listed as canceled on Ticketmaster. Their London concert was also removed from The O2 website.

The canceled UK and Ireland leg would have followed a current run of North American stadium shows with Def Leppard, which is expected to end early next month.

The tour's canceled UK and Ireland tour dates are as follows:

October
30 – Utilita Arena, Cardiff
31 – Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham

November
02 – OVO Hydro, Glasgow
04 – SSE Arena, Belfast
05 – 3Arena, Dublin
08 – AO Arena, Manchester
09 – Premier Direct Arena, Leeds
11 – M&S Bank Arena, Liverpool
13 – Utilita Arena, Birmingham
16 – Utilita Arena, Newcastle
17 – The O2, London

The cancellation comes shortly after Journey keyboardist and rhythm guitarist Jonathan Cain filed a new lawsuit against bandmate Neil Shawn while on tour in the United States.

according to Bloomberg LawThe lawsuit was filed out of frustration over Shawn's “tour-related expenses,” including “budget and expense” charges on the band's credit card for personal expenses.

Announcing the UK and Ireland tour in February, lead guitarist Shaun said: “It's been a long time since we've seen you all!

“We're all very excited to have our good friends Cheap Trick, who I've known and played with since the seventies, back in the UK. »

“Don't Stop Believin'” was named the greatest song of all time earlier this year. Recently, Shawn recalled being “terrified” when he used the hit title happiness – I saw him compose the soundtrack for the final scene The Sopranos.
