Portugal scores against Ireland

Published on

This Tuesday, Portugal wrapped up their preparations for Euro 2024 with a quiet three-goal-nil victory over Ireland.. Find our ratings for Seleção players.

Diogo Costa (6): Didn't have to do much tonight. Pleasant-footed, never in a hurry, he seems very calm.

Joao Cancelo (5.5) : He often had a tendency to get on the shaft. What to say except that he comes out at half time.

Pepe (7) : 45 solid minutes with two excellent interventions. It's hard to believe that at the age of 41, he hasn't played a single match in a month and a half.

Antonio Silva (7) : After a disappointing performance against Finland, he will do well. Like his elder, he made several important interventions in the early period.

Gonzalo Inacio (5) : In the 20th minute Ireland completely missed a pass that could have led to a goal. Average performance, in line with the previous one.

Diogo Dalot (5.5) : A bad mistake from the start, you won't have to sink your teeth into later. He came out at half time.

Joao Neves (6) : A lot of activity and a lot of calm in his youth.

Bruno Fernandes (8) : After a tricky match against Croatia, we discovered the real Bruno Fernandes. Clever with Joao Felix's goal pass, he could have finished with an assist or two.

Rafael Leo (6) : Still very active on his left side, he didn't come close to opening the scoring before the first quarter of the game, where he played only 45 minutes, as in the previous two matches.

Joao Felix (6) : He swapped the invisibility cloak he wore against Croatia for a three-piece suit (almost well). Author of the opener, he should do better with the final pass. Let's appreciate his work that helped him finish 10th.

Cristiano Ronaldo (9) : What a return for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner after a good week off. Very active in the first half, he stepped it up a gear in the second half and scored two goals in ten minutes. A couple of skylights cleaned, Caoimhin Kelleher will remember them for a long time.

Diogo Jota (6) : Entering half-time, he fought well to serve Cristiano. With two goals and an assist in this build-up, the Reds striker has earned points.

Ruben Neves (6) : A very good opening for CR7's first goal. Although no longer playing in Europe, his passing quality is still relevant.

Nelson Semedo and Nueno Mendes (5.5) : The same rating as the full backs they came to replace. Not much to say.

Danilo Pereira (6.5) : A good entry from the Parisian defender who played his role perfectly.
