Japanese billionaire Yusaku Meizawa will return to space in 2023. This time it wants to circle the moon for a week.

Eight artists are allowed to accompany him, including DJ Steve Aoki. Meizawa wants to pay for the entire trip.

The stars will be delivered with Elon Musk’s SpaceX rockets.

Japanese billionaire Yusaku Meizawa embarks eight artists on a planned space mission around the moon. Maezawa, 47, who flew to the International Space Station (ISS) last year as a space tourist, announced the names of his crew members on Friday, including DJ and producer Steve Aoki and Korean K-pop musician Top.

Maezawa, the founder of online fashion site Soso, announced his project “DearMoon” in 2018, in which he plans to fly around the moon for a week in 2023 aboard Elon Musk’s rocket and satellite company SpaceX. In March last year, the wealthy entrepreneur invited people who “see themselves as artists” to accompany him on a space flight.

Anyone applying for the crew must feel that space travel will push the boundaries of their creative pursuits and ultimately lead to “helping other people and society.” His eight crew members were selected from nearly a million applicants. Meizawa foots the bill for the week-long trip to the moon.

Other crew members include Irish photographer Rhiannon Adam, Indian actor Dev Joshi, American YouTuber Tim Dodd, Czech choreographer Yemi Eddy, British photographer Karim Ilia and American filmmaker Brendan Hall.
