Wales defeated Scotland on Sunday as both teams booked their World Cup stints in South Africa

Wales and Scotland have qualified for the 2023 Netball World Cup in South Africa after finishing top two in the European qualifiers in Glasgow.

Six teams were competing in a round robin for available places in next year’s premier netball competition. Northern Ireland miss out miserably after finishing third.

The match is the fourth of five qualifiers held around the world. The Americas Netball World Cup Qualifiers will be held in Kingston, Jamaica from October 16th to 21st.

Scottish Thistles and Welsh Feathers join the already qualified England Vitality Roses.

Five days of netball action culminated in an intense game between Scotland and Wales. Both teams had qualified for the 2023 Netball World Cup in their previous matches but Wales prevailed 58-51 in a dramatic final.

“I think we have a clear idea of ​​what we need to improve from the Commonwealth Games and they’ve done that in about eight weeks, they’ve taken the first step and you’ve seen it in the performances,” the Scotland leader said. . Coach Tamsin Greenway said.

Scotland secured their ticket to Cape Town after defeating the Isle of Man, Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Gibraltar.
