Norway- Northern Ireland, head to head

• Having never met before the autumn of 2021, Austria and Northern Ireland will meet for the third time in a year as part of Group A’s second day at the UEFA Women’s Euros.
• Both teams are aiming for the first point in Group A after losing their first match.
• Austria lost their tournament opener 1–0 to hosts England on 6 July; Beth Mead’s goal in the 16th minute put the Austrians behind for the first time at the Women’s Euros.

• On 7 July, Norway defeated Northern Ireland 4–1 on their major tournament debut. The double winners trailed 3-0 on the half-hour before 37-year-old Julie Nelson became the oldest scorer at a female Euros at 37 years and 33 days, before making tournament history with her 49th-minute header. Norway would regain their three-goal lead five minutes later.
• Austria won the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 qualifier 3-1 in Wiener Neustadt on 8 April. After the break, goals from Karina Wenninger, Nicole Billa and Barbara Dunst put Austria in second place in Group D.

• Jolly Andrews scored the consolation goal in the 85th^E Kenny Shiels’ minute for Northern Ireland. The two sides drew 2–2 in the first meeting in Belfast in October 2021. Dunst opened the scoring for the visitors but after Lauren Wade and Demi Vance had put Northern Ireland ahead, Stephanie Enzinger’s added-time equalizer rescued Austria a point (42.^E).
• Northern Ireland are still looking for their first win against Austria (1 draw, 1 loss).
• Austria reached their first Women’s Euros five years ago and were eliminated on penalties in the semi-finals after a goalless draw against Denmark in Breda.
• Irene Furman’s side secured their place in a second consecutive finals by finishing second in Group G behind France with 19 points from eight games. She only conceded a point against Les Bleus (0-0, 0-3) and the only game in which she conceded a goal was the defeat at Guingamp in November 2020.

• Northern Ireland reached their first major tournament in April 2021 with a 4–1 aggregate play-off win over Ukraine (2–1, 2–0), finishing second in their group behind Norway due to their superior record against Wales.
• Austria suffered their first Euro defeat within 90 minutes of their matchday 1 loss to England.

Austria: Nicole Billa

• The 26-year-old netted Austria’s second goal in a 3-1 win over Northern Ireland on 8 April. This feat allowed him to record ten goals in seven matches to qualify for the 2023 World Cup.
• Billa was Austria’s top scorer in the Women’s Euro 2022 qualifiers, scoring seven goals in eight matches, including a hat-trick against Kazakhstan in November 2019.
• The striker was Hoffenheim’s top scorer for the fourth consecutive campaign in 2021/22, with 16 goals in all competitions.

Northern Ireland: Jolly Andrews

• The 20-year-old scored his first goal for Northern Ireland five minutes into the 80th.^E The moment we lost to Austria in April.
• Andrews made his international debut during the Euro 2022 qualifying campaign, in a 6–0 win over the Faroe Islands in Tórshavn in September 2020.
• She was part of the Glentoran side that won the Women’s Premiership title and Challenge Cup in 2021 and was named man of the match after scoring in a 2–0 cup final win over Crusaders Strikers in October.
