An authentic achievement for XV of Clover. Ireland recorded their first ever win over New Zealand (12-23) in Dunedin on Saturday 9 July. Andy Farrell’s players responded best, seven days later the same All Blacks (42-19).

Reduced to 14 in the 31st minute, dominated territorially in the first period and disorganized in the second, the dual world champions suffered from the Irish’s play. The two “beautiful” selections will meet next Saturday in Wellington.

Jonny Sexton, flawless against the Poles (100% success in five attempts), can celebrate his 37th birthday on Monday with the assurance of duty. A week after suffering a concussion, the Leinster fly-half led his team-mates to this historic performance.
