“Satisfied with my time”

Groupama-FDJ leader David Gaudu was pleased with his performance on Friday’s first stage of the Tour, a short trial through the streets of Copenhagen, where he finished 50 seconds behind winner Yves Lampert.

David Goudow (51st, 50 seconds behind the winner of the first stage of the Tour de France) “It was a technical circuit, very urban, with a lot of white lines. With the rain, we knew it was going to be tough, and I scared myself once, but I managed to catch up quickly. It is always a special exercise, very short, which is not something I like very much. I prefer a slightly longer time, even if it means losing more time. I’m still happy with my time despite a couple of mistakes that almost cost me a fall, but otherwise everything went well. The road didn’t get wet at all, took turns well and avoided falls. The sensations were great. »
