Popular terrace (or Beer garden) Connects Dublin City Center Pubs on O’Connell Street Of fiber magi, Living room And Of Murray Should become an extension of the Holiday Inn Express.
Closure in favor of 95 additional rooms
Dublin City Council, despite significant opposition to the plan, approved the planning permit and granted an extension to close the hotel, which has been described as a “unique cultural center”.
The extension will provide 95 extra rooms during the holiday season.
The move has drawn criticism from a number of politicians, including Nisa Hurrigan, the Green Party’s MP in Ireland. She decided to appeal the decision.
Addressing the site theJournal.ieShe said the decision to allow the hotel to expand further was “too short-sighted”.
“I think it’s worth fighting to preserve our nightlife economy and culture,” she said. This is a very important part of the city.
“There is no point in building an incredible number of hotel rooms in the city, at the same time there are no cultural venues for visitors. What Dublin has to do is insult Dublin.”
I’m going to appeal against the DCC’s decision to allow FYI to build the Holiday Inn Express on the existing shared beer garden. This can only be done by those who initially made one observation (only 12 observations were submitted). 1 / https://t.co/PoC9Rx07cV
