Belgium corrected Poland and Ukraine smiled again against Ireland

Published on

On the second day of the League of Nations, the Belgians dominated Poland (6-1). After the disappointment of not qualifying for the World Cup, the Ukrainians went on to win (0-1) in Dublin.

Belgium, who were humiliated at home (6-1) by the Netherlands on Friday during the opening of the Nations League, revived on Wednesday by dominating Poland (2-1) on the second day. For Poland, Robert Lewandowski scored (28), but Axel Witzel (42) and Kevin de Bruyne (59) allowed the Red Devils to make a difference. Before Leandro Trossard, double goals (73, 80), Leander dendonker (83) and Lois Opendra (90, + 3) sealed the victory for Belgium.

In the same group 4 of League A, Wales qualified for the World Cup (1-0) after winning the play-off final (1-0) against Ukraine on Sunday, beating the Dutch (1-2). Rice Norrington-Davis thought a draw for Wales (90 + 2), but after stoppage time Vot Vegorst scored the winning goal for the Dutch (90 + 4). In Wednesday’s first game of the group, the Welsh dominated (2-1) last Wednesday.

Ukraine is recovering

In Group 1 of League B, Ukraine, still reeling from the Russian occupation, were able to overcome the disappointment of losing to Gareth Bale’s teammates and Qatar not qualifying for the World Cup. After Cardiff’s tears, Oleksandr Petrakov won their first match of the selection series against Ireland in Dublin (0-1).

Scotland, who beat Ukraine (3-1) at home in the semi-finals of the World Cup play-offs last Wednesday, started their campaign in the Nations League with a win (2-0) against Armenia (2-0) at home. Ireland (1-0) on Saturday.
