The use of “play-to-earn” games is growing strongly in France

According to a recent study by Findtech Platform Finder.com, 6% of French Internet users have already tried the “play-to-ear” (P2E) type game. Adoption of such games will double in the coming months.

Play-to-Earn is revolutionizing the world of video games. Based on blockchain technology, NFTs and cryptocurrencies, these games reward their users for their performance within the game. Beyond simple entertainment, they are the dawn of a new economy. Web3 Source, GameFi (“Game integration”, “Finance”).

Play-to-air, a new trend in France

Currently, the acceptance of P2E games in France is below the global average of 14%. Indeed, France is in last place, behind Sweden (4%) and Ireland (11%), the United States (9%) and Canada (8%).

But the potential for growth is greatest in France. Studies show that the use of P2E games can be multiplied by 2.6. “Adoption is likely to grow in France as more developers integrate cryptocurrency-specific mechanisms into their habitat,” said Keegan Francis, a cryptocurrency author at Finder.com. Other big winners were Peru (which rose from 13 to 29%) and Spain (8 to 17%).

India is the country that plays the most P2E games, with 34% of respondents saying they have played a P2E game. In India or the Philippines, these games have emerged, with a section of the population quitting their jobs and trying to earn a living by playing. Keegan Francis points out that the adoption of such games is more likely in countries where the cost of living is lower. Surprisingly, in terms of use and adoption, those under the age of 35 are at the forefront.
