Algeria will host Uganda this Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 7pm GMT on July 5, 1962 at the Olympic Stadium in Algiers. At times, Algerian goalkeeper Royce M’Bolhi will be the second most capped player on the national team.

Royce M’Bolhi will play his 90th match against Phoenix in Algeria if there is a deadline this evening as part of the first day of the CAN 2023 qualifier against Uganda. With so many matches under the colors of the national team, Etifak FC goalkeeper becomes the second most capped player for the Greens behind Lakhdar Bellumi, who has won 100 matches.

Note that Royce M’Bolhi is the only Algerian goalkeeper to have won two FIFA World Cups, especially in 2010 and 2014. The 36-year-old fearless goalkeeper has played in six of his two World Cups, including two 2010 World Cups in South and South Africa. Four in 2014 in Brazil.

In addition, during these two partnerships in the South African and Brazilian worlds, Raees Emboli has been named Man of the Match three times.

As a reminder, M’Bolhi joined the Algerian team in 2010. The then young goalkeeper first appeared for the national team against Ireland during a friendly match in preparation for the World Cup in South Africa on Friday, May 28, 2010. He replaced Fauzi Chowdhury in the 65th minute and conceded his first national goal that evening. The goal was signed by Roy Keane. The Algerians lost to Northern Ireland 3-0 that night at the RDS Arena in Dublin.
