GDPR: Meta fined 17 17 million

The Meta Group, which was Facebook before violating the GDPR in Ireland, has been fined 17 17 million. The permit follows an investigation into activities from 2018 onwards.

Meta (formerly Facebook) has been fined 17 17 million for failing to comply with the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) equivalent to Cnil. Following an investigation into 12 GDPR violations between June and December 2018, the Authority concluded that META’s platforms violated Articles 5 and 24 of the European Texts Act. The Authority found so “Meta platforms lacked the appropriate technical and organizational measures to allow the EU to easily demonstrate the security measures it has implemented to protect user data.”.

“These best sanctions, which we have updated since 2018, do not fail to protect people’s information.A company spokesman responded. We take our obligations under GDPR seriously. “. It should be noted that the company is not often concerned about the DPC, which focuses on complaints from 27 EU players regarding issues related to the processing of Gaffam personal data. It is alleged that this is consistent with the tech giants who have strengthened the country’s attractive tax framework to persuade Facebook or Google to choose their European headquarters.

Last September, the same DPC fined Facebook 225 million euros for lack of information on the WhatsApp platform. It was fined 50 million euros and the outcry of several European authorities led to a revision to its top.
