Jonas Hoffmann (Germany)
The German national team met last week in Marbella, Spain. National coach Hansie Flick has called DFB-LF together for a resuscitation training camp, inviting players’ families to join. A training session was usually awaited by Hoffman and colleagues, and was free before noon.
“It’s about a mentally and physically responsible transition between the season and the Nations League,” Flick announced. After a free weekend, just before the end of four matches in the Nations League, the national team meets again on Monday (May 30) in Herzogenourach, one of which is even in Borussia Park. EM drivers Florian Newhaus and Matthias Ginter are not part of the team after disappointing seasons.

As expected, the 26-member squad nominated by national coach Murat Yakin includes three Borussian players, Jan Sommer, Nico Lvedi and Braille Embolo. The trio will meet Granit Xaka and Europa League winner Jibril Zoil, two players with a Gladback past, but will not be reuniting with Denis Zachariah for the time being. “Unfortunately, he was injured a lot after moving to Turin. He has a hamstring tear. It makes no sense to call him,” Yakin said as the squad was announced.

Joe Scelly (USA)
Joe Scholy is one of 27 players nominated by national team coach Greg Berhalter for the World Cup in Qatar. Scoali, as Berhalter revealed when the squad was announced, is preparing for his senior debut. “He’s got time to play. I do not know how much more, but he’s got a chance to show himself,” Berhalter said. After two friendly matches against Morocco and Uruguay, the USA has two more matches to look forward to in the Concacaf Nations League.
