The incident took place off the coast of Rodante in the state of North Carolina. According to area guards, the residence was unoccupied at the time of the crash.
The Cape Hatteras National Seashore Environmental Service, which is responsible for the area, said in a statement that it was the second house to sink in 24 hours.

“Ocean Drive of the Beach [avenida] Closed, law enforcement will close Ocean Drive soon. Visitors are advised to stay away from the beach in this area.
For the past three days, low pressure has brought strong winds and big waves to the North Carolina coast, wreaking havoc in the region.
“Conditions are acceptable, but difficult. Sand and seawater are advancing on the surface and accumulating in many places,” officials said.
