Ireland promised Italy and signed the first victory

Lucas Fontaine (iDalgo)

Ireland won their first women’s Six Nations victory over Italy 29-8 in Cork. Despite playing against the wind for the first 40 minutes, the efforts of Lucy Malhall and Nev Jones gave Ireland a 10-3 half-time lead. The second half saw Ireland take full control. Catherine Dane quickly reacted to a speculation behind the rack and got another try. Cronin changed it to 17-3. An attempt by coach Greg McWilliams shortly afterwards. A week after suffering a storm in the conflict in France, the tide of Ireland changed. Players were awarded a penalty try after the five-yard scramble was blocked illegally. The Italians returned to the game with a first try, scoring from the bottom of the roll. Ireland finally laughed their last, and O’Dwyer jumped to the Italian in-goal, taking advantage of a misguided ball from a stolen lineout.
