Holcim greets Cement heading to Northern Ireland

The Swiss group is reducing its presence in the cement sector

The company’s strategy is to accelerate green growth by expanding to other areas

Zurich – Zurich-based Holcim Group has decided to sell its cement-related businesses in Northern Ireland to local company Cookstone Stone.

The financial details and timing of the transaction were not disclosed.

Cookstone Stone Cement, a new group founded by Holcim’s longtime trading partner, with a capital of about 70 million francs, today refers to the Swiss cement giant in a note, with a sales capacity of 450,000 tonnes. Cement.

The deal is part of Holcim’s 2025 Strategy – Accelerating Green Growth, explained by Milsen Gutovic, Holcim’s head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. As part of the relocation, the Zurich-based group is reducing its presence in the expensive and energy-intensive cement sector to expand into more specialized areas with higher margins.
