At a press conference this Friday, Saturday, March 25th and 26th, China’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAAC) presented its latest findings on searches in these areas. Remains of a Boeing 737 with B-1791 registrationChina Eastern Airlines, parts of which are China.

On March 25, 2022, the CAAC reported that a Boeing 737’s engine gearbox and main landing gear had been found and that parts of the aircraft were on fire.

Memory chip The first black box was found, The cockpit voice recorder (CVR) is damaged and will be sent to the chip maker for repair, as recommended by the manufacturer. Therefore, there are no statistics on when the data can be downloaded.

On March 26, 2022, the CAAC reported that the wreckage found in Yatang had been identified as the rear wing of one of the crashed aircraft. Another wreckage was found 2.3 km north of Yatang in Lixiu village. The arc-shaped object is examined and identified.

The search for the second black box is still ongoing. An ELT (Emergency Locator Transmitter) was detected at the main crash site near where the black box was found.

One hundred and twenty of the plane’s 132 passengers, 114 of the 123 passengers and six of the nine crew have been identified so far.

Of the 66 samples used in the 41 tests, no inorganic or biological explosives were found. A preliminary report in Chinese and English will be sent to the ICAO within one month (April 21, 2022).
