Safari Browser: Bug in Apple Browser .. Experts Beware!

Published on

InternetDesk: Cyber experts have prepared some important tips for users of the Apple Safari browser. Fingerprint JS, a US-based cyber security firm, has revealed that a bug in the Safari browser led to the leaking of users’ browsing and personal information and their Google account details. He said there was a bug in the programming interface (API) of the application IndexDB, which is used to store browsing data in Safari browsers. It records the details as the user moves from one web page to another web page in the browser. Fake web pages that deceive users, especially the same domain names, make them unrelated to real web pages. This prevents users’ information from being registered on fake websites.

Currently, user information is being leaked due to a bug in it, FingerprintJS said. So far, along with Google services, user data related to more than 30 popular websites such as Instagram, Netflix, Twitter and Xbox have been leaked. Safari 15 revealed this bug. However, users can do nothing about this bug, and Apple is reportedly trying to fix it. Cyber experts say that users should not have to wait until Apple releases an update on this bug. Until then it is advisable not to use the Safari browser.
