Rebel Tory MPs plot to oust Boris Johnson from secret Westminster base

A hostile coalition of Conservative MPs is plotting to overthrow the Prime Minister at a secret Westminster “command center”.

They set up a headquarters in the much-used Commons meeting room where they meet to plan their next move.

Their alliance screamed when a minister accidentally walked around to find MPs around a conference table.

Boris Johnson’s allies believe they are trying to put together the 54 letters needed to force a vote of confidence.

It is believed that they are organizing continuous leaks to embarrass the government and keep the pressure on.

The leaders are former health minister Stephen Hammond, former Northern Ireland secretary Karen Bradley and chairwoman Caroline Knox.

Rookie MPs from the Red Wall, a former Labor stronghold, were convinced by experienced conspirators that they would lose their weak majority if Boris remained.

Cabinet sources said: “Some MPs are waiting for Boris to step down and shake hands in hopes of revenge. “
