Vaccination liability, fine in Austria up to 3,600 euros

In Austria, anyone who does not get vaccinated against Kovid will be fined between 600 and 3600 euros. This is what we read in the draft law on vaccination liability introduced in Parliament. The measure will take effect in February. Constitutional Affairs Minister Caroline Edstaddler underlined that once you run, you can avoid fines if you opt for vaccination.

Exemptions are available for minors under 14 years of age, pregnant women, those who have recovered less than 180 days, or those who have not been vaccinated for proven medical reasons. More than a million people in Austria have not been vaccinated, “Eddstadler said.” The draft law stipulates that the list of vaccinated persons and the list of residents should be compared every three months to identify those who have not been vaccinated. About 9 million people live in Austria.

With the support of four of the five parties present in Parliament, there is no problem in approving the provision on vaccination liability. The country, which is currently locked down, is facing serious infections related to the inadequacy of vaccinations. Currently, 68% of the population is vaccinated. The obligation to administer the immunization against Kovid should be valid for two years.
