Enio Doris, Founder and Honorary President of Banka Mediolanam, passed away at 2.12pm on Tuesday, November 23rd and Wednesday, November 24th. He was 81: he left behind his wife, Lina Tombolato, and children, Sarah and Massimo.

Ennio Doris was born on July 3, 1940, in Tombolo. For more than forty years he has been the undisputed leader of Italian finance, businessman, banker and founder of Banka Mediolanam, one of the most important companies in the national banking scene. Also found in Spain, Germany and Ireland. He has been married to Lina Tombolato since 1966, leaving behind two children – Massimo and Sarah – and seven grandchildren: Agnes, Alberto, Anna, Aqua, David, Luna Chiara and Sarah Viola. In 1992 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic and in 2002 the Cavalier del Lavoro. She received her Master’s Honors Cos in “Banking and Finance” from the CUOA Foundation in September 2002. From 2000 to 2012 he was the Director of Mediobanca SpA and Banca Esperia SpA, and from 1996 he was the Chief Executive Officer of Mediolanum SpA, the group’s holding company. Until last November 3, 2021, Enrique Doris served as Chairman of Banka Mediolanam, the day he was appointed Honorary Chairman following a resolution by shareholders. Enrique Doris has also been the Honorary President of the Mediolanum Onlus Foundation.
