Kovid – Travelers to Ireland are exempt from the new UK travel restrictions

The British government has introduced new measures to “slow down the progress” of the omicron variant of the COVD-19 virus that has plagued the world for days.

These measures include the obligation for all travelers from Tuesday morning until the end of the second day after their arrival in the United Kingdom, while isolating themselves while waiting for the results.

Excluded CTA Zone

However, Ireland’s Foreign Minister Simon Coweny welcomed the confirmation that the new UK regulations aimed at dealing with the Omicron variant do not apply to travelers from the Common Travel Area (CTA).

People traveling from Ireland to the Common Travel Area (CTA) are not required to undergo a PCR test, and the UK Government has confirmed that all contacts related to Omikron’s case must be isolated for 10 days. Their vaccination status.

Sajid Javed, its health secretary, confirmed on Saturday that two cases of the new omicron variant of Kovid-19 had been detected in the UK.

“The UK Health Safety Agency has informed us of two UK cases of the Omicron variant,” the health secretary wrote on Twitter.

“Both cases are related and have something to do with a trip to South Africa.

“These people isolate themselves from their homes as more testing and contact detection takes place.”
