Dancing robots switch lovers at Japanese baseball recreation

TOKYO — With their stadium devoid of admirers due to coronavirus limitations, Japanese baseball group Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks have arrive up with an imaginative alternative: dancing robots.

Just before their most the latest Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) video game towards Rakuten Eagles on Tuesday, above 20 robots danced to the team’s fight track on a podium in the otherwise empty stand.

Two different robots, like SoftBank’s humaniod robotic ‘Pepper’ and other people on four legs like a pet dog, stamped and shimmied in a choreographed dance that is ordinarily performed by the Hawks’ supporters ahead of games in the 40,000 capacity Fukuoka Dome.

Some of the robots wore Hawks caps and waved flags supporting the crew.

Lovers on social media experienced mixed reactions.

“I assume this is like a dystopia,” wrote a person Twitter consumer.

Boosted by the supportive robots, the Hawks received 4-3 as they glimpse to defend their 2019 NPB title.
