France returns to World Top 5! Facing Australia on September 13 in the world rugby rankings, Fabian Galti’s coach’s team slipped from sixth to fifth on Monday, thanks to their impressive win over New Zealand in Southampton de France last Saturday (40-25). The Blues now have 85.53 points, just one point behind Ireland, who had their best autumn tour with great victories over Japan, New Zealand and Argentina.

The South African world champions, who beat Wales and Scotland before losing to England, still hold the top spot. The All Blacks, who won both Wales and Italy before losing to Ireland and France, remain second behind England, who dominated Tonga this November, and therefore Australia and South Africa. After the victory in Japan, the Wallabies had a tragic fall tour with defeats in Scotland, England and Wales, overtaking France to finish sixth.

Another change in the top 10 is with Wales (2 wins, 1 defeat) overcoming Argentina (2 wins, 1 defeat). The rankings will not change until February and the start of the six-nation tournament. With good results, the Blues will have a chance to overtake Ireland or even England.
