Followers have launched a petition to rename New York City’s Longacre Theatre in memory of Broadway star Nick Cordero, who handed away on Sunday due to troubles from coronavirus.
The Longacre, which was residence to Cordero’s final broadway demonstrate “A Bronx Tale,” was designed in 1912 and is currently named just after Longacre Sq. — the original title for Times Square. The rechristened theatre would be known as “The Nick Cordero Theatre.”
The petition experienced above 26,000 signatures on Tuesday.
“‘A Bronx Tale, The Musical’ was the last Broadway present Nick Cordero starred in. This musical set a history as the longest-functioning musical in Longacre history,” the petition reads.

Cordero, who was 41 at the time of his demise, was admitted to the Cedar-Sinai healthcare facility in Los Angeles again in April. He experienced his correct leg amputated, and was held in a medically induced coma for the the greater part of his hospitalization.
