Burning container ship emits toxic gas off the coast of Canada

The Canadian Coast Guard has evacuated 16 people from a burning container ship. Sunday, October 24th. Since last day, the ship has been cleaning Toxic gas from a fire off the Pacific coast of Canada. “An emergency zone has been set up around the ship (one nautical mile) as firefighting progresses., ConfirmedA Canadian Coast Guard.

The Sim Kingston is anchored in the city of Victoria in British Columbia, according to Marine Traffic, which marks the sea border between Canada and the United States in the Strait of Juan de Fuca. “The fire continues to be a dynamic event. An incident command post has been set up to control the situation. Containers detached from the ship on Friday are responding to fight and recover from the fire.”, The Coast Guard said.

The origin of the fire was not immediately known Sunday. The container ship contained more than 52 tons of chemicals, which were loaded into two containers that caught fire, CBC reported. According to Radio-Canada, Sim Kingston was in trouble until Friday after losing 40 containers in the Pacific, with the Canadian Coast Guard and their American rivals working together.
