Published on

Even the international break does not prevent Earling Holland from scoring goals. The star striker from Borussia Dortmund led the Norwegian national team to a clear 2-0 (1-0) victory in the World Cup qualifier on Saturday evening. Holland scored a decent 1-1 at home against the Netherlands on Thursday to seal the Norwegians’ third qualifying victory in the 20th minute with a penalty. The second goal was scored by Mohammed Elionousi (66). Shortly after Turkey and the Netherlands, Norway topped Group G, but both teams returned with clear games (Netherlands 4-0 against Montenegro and Turkey 3-0 against Gibraltar). Turkey (11) are currently in first place, followed by the Netherlands and Norway (10 points each).

In the Serbian national team’s clear 4-1 (2-0) victory over Surprise Team Luxembourg (six points from the previous three games), the striker won a brace (22, 35) and scored the only goals in a total of seven qualifiers. Maxim Chanot (81st / own goal) and Nikola Milenkovic (90 + + 6) are the other goalscorers for the Serbs, now with points better than Group A and Portugal on goal difference.

Philippe Costic, who created negative headlines during his training session at his club Eintracht Frankfurt last week, played more than 90 minutes and scored two goals. Oliver Thill (77th) scored the consolation goal for Luxembourg.
