Ireland: Msgr. Farrell (Dublin), “Climate crisis is the greatest challenge facing humanity”

Published on

Climate crisis is “the biggest problem facing humanity” and “cannot be solved by clichs or short-term actions”. This was stated by the Archbishop MGR of Dublin. Dermot Farrell presented an environmental theme this year, which he chose as “Earth’s cry – the cry of the poor.” “This is a multi-level crisis,” said the archbishop, who affects all aspects of life, from health to inequality, to immigration to the economy. “It is important to see the human face of this crisis, which has an immediate and long – term impact on people, especially the vulnerable.” “The cries of the earth and the cries of the poor go together. There is no solution to this crisis without fulfilling our obligations to our brothers and sisters who have been abandoned by the West. He adds: “As young people say, ‘there is no planet B’.” Adults in this generation have a serious responsibility to pass on a habitable planet to the next generation. Archbishop Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg repeats: “I realized that no one is too small to make a difference.”
