Demand boom for label media

Published on

Consumption of self-adhesive label materials in Europe increased by 9.3% compared to the same quarter of 2020. This is especially relevant if we consider that the demand for labels has already peaked in the second quarter of 2020, the annual growth rate due to the Kovid-19 pandemic.

The highest peak of demand in the spring of 2021 is associated with 13.2% growth in the EU economy compared to the second quarter of 2020. Annual growth was a record 14.6%, while demand for roll label films fell 4.2% (in Q2 2020, a record increase for non-paper rolls was 22.4%). Demand for this specialty has grown significantly as a result of recent corporate scandals. Overall, in the first half of 2021, demand for self-adhesive materials in Europe increased by 5.4% compared to the first half of 2020 (an increase of 7.7% for paper reels and 0.3% for film).

In particular, demand growth in the first half of 2021 was driven by strong double-digit growth rates recorded in the UK, Ireland, Southern Europe and Eastern Europe. Central Europe.

These second regions experienced a growth rate of more than 15% in the second quarter of 2020, but declined significantly over the same period in 2021.
