Court Nielsen won the sixth round of the Volta, with Roglik taking the lead

Top of the Mountain of Cullera, Spain (AP) – Magnus Court Nielsen won the sixth leg of the Vulta A Espana on Thursday, stopping Primos Rogli and reclaiming second-place Red Jersey.

Court Nielsen was part of an earlier five-man 158.3-kilometer (98.3-mile) voyage off the east coast of Spain. The Danish EF education team was enough to cross the finish line in front of Rogli on top of a short but steep climb near Kullera Castle near the Mediterranean Sea.

This is the fourth stage victory of the Grand Tour of Spain for Court Nielsen, the stage winner of the Tour de France.

“In the end, it was pretty tight,” Dane said. When I looked back 150 meters from the finish I saw Roglick approaching. He was running all he had, and luckily I was able to keep him behind me. ”

Roglik, a two-time Vulta champion, returned to the race lead he held in the first two stages.

Kenny Elizon lost the mindset he had maintained for a day after suffering in the final stages of the stage.

The cross wind, which had affected the paddy fields for the last 30 km, split the Peloton into groups as it passed through the narrow tracks. Behind Elizand, he had to work hard to get to the top of the field with the Trek-Segafredo team, after which he disappeared again in the final two kilometers (1.2 miles).

Roglik, the leader of Jumbo-Wisma, is followed by three Movistar riders in the general classification: 25 seconds behind Eric Moss, followed by his teammates Miguel Angle Lopez and Alejandro Valverde. Former Tour winner Egan Bernal de Inios is 41 seconds behind.

On Friday, the riders will compete for a distance of 152 km (94 miles) from Gandhi, and the first-tier summit will end at the Balkan de Alicante.
