Five people were killed this afternoon in a shooting in the southwestern city of Plymouth, local police reported on their profile. Facebook.

The British newspaper Daily Mail reported that the dead included the suspect’s mother, brother and a five-year-old girl who had no connection to the shooter. Two of the injured were walking with dogs when the shooting began.

Witnesses at the scene said the shooter was dressed in black and gray and first broke down the door of a house and entered the shooting.

He then walked to a park, where he opened fire again before shooting himself.

Devon County Police and Cornwall Police explained in a post on their social networks that they called themselves to respond to the incident in the Keyham area at 6:10 pm (2:10 EDT) local time and asked if there were any alleged footage of the scene.

“There have been some deaths at the scene, and many others have been injured and are being treated,” officials said.

British MP Johnny Mercer, on his Twitter profile, denied that the episode had anything to do with terrorism and called on locals to calm down.
