Last weekend, Goran Ivanovic became the first Croatian to enter the Tennis Hall of Fame.

It was his childhood idol, John McIntyre, who introduced the man from Split to that great tennis community. On that occasion, he received a special jacket and a gold medal.

After the ceremony, Ivanisevich almost cried in the interview because he remembered the family tragedy.

“Had to wait, this is where my tennis journey ends. He left Split 42 years ago. There were so many emotions, I changed my speech three hundred times and I didn’t want to exclude anyone. In the end, he almost cries because I did, which unfortunately is not my sister, but here …Ivanisevich said emotionally, adding that his sister would certainly be proud of him.

“I think she will be proud of me. All I did was look at me there, but all I did was make people laugh, and that was good. Only when you get here do you realize what you did. How emotional all this is, this museum, these people who created tennis changed the history of tennis“.

Sridzana Ivanisevich died in early October 2019 at the age of 52 after a long struggle with a serious illness. She was diagnosed with leukemia during pregnancy. For years, the Ivanovich family struggled with the surgeon, but in the end they did not survive. Unfortunately she had surgery in the morning and died in the evening. During his career, Sridjana was one of the main inspirations for Goren, who said he played for his sister in the eighties and for Croatia in the nineties and that he did not have time to play after that.
