200 electronic buses will arrive in Ireland

Published on

Alexander Dennis Ltd. and BYD UK have signed an agreement with the National Transport Authority of Ireland, promising to supply 200 BYD ADL Enviro200EV electric buses, and the gas emission is zero as it runs on battery. The agreement includes an initial order to deliver 45 buses by 2022.

The contract, which lasts for up to 5 years, includes the delivery of single-decker electric buses. The partnership stemmed from a rigorous acquisition process in which BYD ADL offered the most interesting offer. This is the first contract of the BYD ADL partnership in Ireland and is the largest zero-emission bus order in the country to date.

The contract signed to supply these battery-powered electric buses highlights NTA’s commitment to an affordable and sustainable transportation network. Over the next five years, we plan a large increase in the number of low, zero-emission city buses operating on the Transport for Ireland (TFI) network across the country. The ship ordered today represents the best combination of state-of-the-art electrical technology, proven reliability, accessibility and comfort of convenience for all passengers using TFI’s bus services. I would like to work with our bus operator partners and ADL to ensure that the first of these buses is delivered and ready for operation by 2022. ”Says Ann Abraham, CEO of the National Transport Authority
