Michael McGrath TD, Minister of Public Expenditure and Reform, on Friday welcomed the European Commission’s positive assessment of Ireland’s national recovery and restoration plan funded by Ireland’s recovery and resilience mechanism. Today, Commission President Ursula von Der Lane traveled to Dowlin with Commissioner Myrade McGuinness to present an assessment to Taoist, Minister McGrath and Finance Minister Paschal Donohue at an event in TU Dublin, Grenchmore.
The EU’s Next Generation U Recovery Tool and the EU’s trillion Euro budget for the next seven years will be crucial to the Union’s response to the global pandemic. The Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), the largest component of NextGeneration EU, provides $ 672.5 billion in grants and loans to member countries, while Ireland receives $ 1 billion in lifetime equipment.
To access this funding, Ireland has developed the National Recovery and Reconstruction Program for EU approval. The project, valued at 9 990 million, defines fund-backed reforms and investments.
Speaking at TU Dublin in Grenzgormann, Taoist, Michael Martin said: “I welcome the approval of Ireland’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the EU’s ambitious recovery package. Presentation of recovery plan
On May 28, 2021, Ireland submitted its draft plan to the European Commission. The Commission has now completed its evaluation of the Irish Plan and prepared the draft Council Implementation Decision, which will be reviewed by the European Union Council.
The overall goal of the Irish Project is to contribute to sustainable, equitable, green and digital recovery to complete and support the Government’s broader recovery efforts.
The plan is based on twenty – five investment plans and reforms that cover three priority areas that address green and digital transformation, along with social and economic recovery and employment.
The Department of Public Expenditure and Reform, in collaboration with the Department of Finance and the Department of Taoism, has overall responsibility for the project, collecting information from other departments if necessary.
