Winds are forecast to reach 60 to 70 kilometers per hour, with speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour in southwestern New Brunswick and western Nova Scotia.

According to meteorologist Bob Robichad, it is best for campers to secure their belongings before heading into the wind.

The wind will not be devastating, but there may be some power outages along the coast.

In terms of rainfall, areas north of its path should receive significant amounts of rainfall. Some parts of New Brunswick are expected to receive 50 to 100 millimeters of rain from Friday to Saturday morning.

The 2-3 meter high waves can reach the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia on Friday or Saturday night.

Early start of the season

Last year, the hurricane season set a new record: 30 storms were named. The first hurricane hit the Atlantic Ocean on July 25. Elsa has been in business since July 2, much earlier than last year’s hurricane.

Hurricanes 13 and 19 are forecast this year. You don’t expect 30 to hit, but you never know, Argues meteorologist Bob Robichad.

He also points out that some of the storms that have been named so far have been very weak.

According to his calculations, hurricanes should be rare in the coming weeks.
