Directed by Zakaria Nouri and starring Nishrin Eradi in the lead role, “Acha” represents Morocco in the 22nd edition of the Ismailia Documentary and Short Film Festival. The event is scheduled for June 16-22 in Egypt.

The film won the Best Picture award at the Mesopotamia Short Film Festival in the Netherlands last year and was nominated for numerous international festivals representing Morocco, Africa and the Middle East, particularly Austria, Ireland, Sweden, Greece and Argentina.

This year’s edition will feature 78 films from 50 countries, which will compete for various festival prizes, including animated films, feature-length documentaries, short documentaries and short films. This year’s session honors a number of Egyptian artists, including the late Raja al-Jeddah, critic Kamal Ramzi, artists Safia al-Omari, Ahmed Badir and the late director Faiza Hussein.
