“Brooklyn”: The Sovereign Ronan Between Love And Homework In The First Trailer For The Oscar Hit – Kino News

“Grand Budapest Hotel” star Xavier Ronan, as an Irish immigrant, has to choose between love and home in the first trailer for Sundance’s favorite and possible Oscar nominee “Brooklyn”.

At the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, director John Crowley (“Boy A”)’s immigrant play “Brooklyn” thrilled audiences and has been a hot Oscar nominee ever since. The first trailer shows a torn Sovereign Ronan trying to find his place in his new home in Brooklyn, and has to face challenges such as proper beach etiquette and spaghetti-free pleasure.

Elise Lacey (Xavier Ronan), an Irish woman, left her home country in the early 1950s to find a better life in New York. There they meet Tony (Emory Cohen), an American of Italian descent, who helps them stay in the big city. A love affair develops between the two, but Elise’s hard housework and longing for her family obscure it. A trip to Ireland turns out to be a tough test that requires a final decision.

The film is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Colm Toib. Nick Hornby is responsible for the templates for “The Big Trip – Wild” and “A Long Way Done”. In addition to Savor Ronan and Emory Cohen (“Pines Beyond the Pines”), there will also be “Star Wars 7” stars Donnall Gleeson and Jim Broadbent (“Paddington”).

The romantic drama will start in US cinemas in November 2015. A German launch date for “Brooklyn” is not yet known.
