G7, NGO against tax agreement: “Tax rates from tax sites”

Oxfam: They put a stick too low and it would be avoided

G7, NGO against tax agreement:

ROME, June 6 (askanews) – Criticism of the G7 agreement on minimum taxation and multinationals from various NGOs. According to Oxfam, at least 15% of a share of turnover is “very low”. Moreover, it is significantly consistent with the tax already paid at the tax base.

Rishi Sunak, Chancellor of the United Kingdom, the current president of the G7, rhetorically described the deal as “historic”.

But Gabriela Butcher, director of Oxfam, told the BBC: “They put the bar at a very low level and businesses can avoid it.” Other NGOs argue that most of the revenue goes to the G7 countries.

However, the multinational companies involved in this tax in general have commented positively on the agreement.
